Rose’s knocked knee success story

Rose was in an ATV accident on her 4th of July outing. She went crazy while rolling her four-wheeler. She had multiple injuries affecting her left shoulder, back, hips, and legs. Four and a half months later she was stunned.

Rose received two massages from a local masseur who helped free up her shoulder. The masseur did not address the lower part of her body. When I got to town, Rose asked me if she would give him a massage. She did not ask me to work on a specific part of her body.

I had Rose put on a pair of shorts and walk down the hall for me. I watched:

1. Their feet everted inward. His lower legs didn’t rest straight at the joint between her ankles, but leaned inward. He was wearing out the inside of his slippers.

2. I was gobsmacked. Her thighs and knees rubbed together. The lower half of her legs extended in an unnatural tripod shape.

3. I tested her pelvis to see if it was in the correct position. she was not. She had an anterior pelvic tilt.

4. He had trouble walking because his hips were so tight. He seemed to drag his legs from side to side with each step.

She later reported to me that her bruised knees interfered with her exercise routines, walking, running, and sometimes sleeping.

To remedy your problems I used a few different techniques:

1. I only worked on his legacy. I used light rubbing motions to empty the lymphatic fluid into her legs starting with her upper leg and then her lower leg. Lymph discharge sites are located on the upper and lower torso, so it is important to move the lymph toward the discharge site. Always move the lymph closer to the discharge site first to allow room for additional lymph flow. In this case, I moved the lymph from her thigh first so the lymph from her lower leg would have somewhere to go when it emptied.

2. I then performed medium to deep tissue manipulation on her quads, the front of her thigh, while she was lying on her back. I then rolled it onto her side and worked the inside of her thigh and calf of the same leg with the same long, deep strokes. I had her flex and extend her ankle while loosening and stretching the tight tissues on the inside of her leg. I used taping, which is light tapping with the fingertips and cupped hands to further loosen the leg muscles.

3. I then laid her on her stomach and worked the back of her leg starting with lymphatic drainage in the same way as described above. I then moved into a medium to deep tissue movement and manipulated these muscles as I did the rest of the leg.

4. I repeated this entire process on the other leg. I spent 45 minutes on each leg.

5. Then I asked him to get up and walk around to observe our work. She was much better.

6. Then I had him lie on his back again. I then used a Craniosacral Therapy technique to adjust her pelvis. I cradled her sacrum in my hand with my fingertips at the top of her pelvis. I pulled her pelvis toward her feet while with the other arm I pulled each side of her pelvis in toward the middle of her torso. Both she and I felt her pelvis slowly return to her place. The smile on her face told me that she could feel the relief. This took less than five minutes.

I made him get up slowly and walk again. She was giddy and giggly as she strutted with the same mobility she enjoyed not long ago. She then she started jumping for joy, clapping her hands and hugging me. She was amazed at how quickly we were able to relieve her knee pain and restore her range of motion and mobility.

The injury massage is my favorite. My greatest satisfaction comes from restoring quality of life and helping the body in its healing process.
