One of the funniest books I’ve read in a long time firmly answers the question every football fan wants to know: Which football team is the greatest of all time?

That question is definitively answered in Damalis Bryant’s book, “The NFL’s all-time dream matchup: fantasy matchups and realistic results.“I won’t spoil the book by revealing the ending, but I will say that the author does a fantastic job of selecting great players, coaches and teams and creating lively and riveting fantasy matchups of the greatest of the greats.

Bryant, a young soldier with a combat stint in Afghanistan, selected the 13 best NFL teams of all time and pitted them against each other in fantasy playoff games that resulted in the greatest Super Bowl of all time. Each section outlines the key plays, runs, and lead changes in contests among 13 of the NFL’s best teams in a single season.

A former sports writer in Virginia before beginning his military career, Bryant has the professional skills and knowledge to accomplish what he’s trying to do as an author: narrate fantasy contests based on real styles, depth of talent, and strategies.

While serving in Mannheim, Germany, Army Specialist Bryant wrote drafts of an NBA fantasy book and a heavyweight boxing fantasy book and completed the NFL fantasy book during his off hours in Afghanistan.

I thoroughly enjoyed this book, from the early introduction of the Hall of Fame greats to the final whistle when the All-Time Super Bowl Champion is revealed. And I’m not going to argue with the author’s choice! Anyone interested in soccer will also enjoy this wonderful book.
