Prosper, Texas – Why are so many people considering moving to Prosper, TX?

One reason is its proximity to Dallas now that the Dallas North Toll Freeway is open from downtown Dallas to Prosper … a 36-mile walk. And, Prosper is now only 10 minutes from Frisco, 20 minutes from McKinney, 30 minutes from Denton, and 35 minutes from Dallas. A new prosperity awareness campaign to be launched in 2009 is called “All roads lead to prosperity.” But proximity is only one reason.

The City of Prosper is an attractive city in the northern part of the Dallas Fort Worth Metroplex. It is a very desirable place to live, work and play. When residents are asked what they like about Prosper, it is often the rural character of the city with wide open spaces that brought them here in the first place. The country feel is also an extremely important quality of the city that residents want to see retained and preserved. The current population is roughly 7,000 … just 2,500 five years ago! So Prosper has the country feel but is only 10 minutes from all the shopping, dining, and entertainment you could ask for. Most residents commute to work in an urban setting, but return to the “field.”

Prosper has been blessed with peace and serenity and, as our mayor says, “people wave at you when you drive by in your car or truck.” There are no traffic jams, horns, or gunfights. And, in that sense, Prosper has a new firehouse located in the center with all the high technology available. Its Police Department recently expanded and is now poised for the population growth projected for the next decade. Another big reason people are moving to Prosper is the excellent school system … School District 3A, District “Recognized” by TEA. Its four elementary schools are rated Exemplary. A new 21st century high school will open in fall 2009. The new $ 96 million Prosper High School facility has a student capacity of 1,500 students. We don’t want to leave Friday night football aside as one more reason to live in Prosper. The Prosper Eagles defeated the Waco La Vega Pirates at Texas Stadium to win the 2008 Class 3A Regional II Division 9 State Finals!

Prosper boasts that Gentle Creek Golf Club was ranked 12th in Texas last year. Designed by DA Weibring Gentle Creek Golf Club is absolutely beautiful with a huge lake in the middle, hills, trees, and wildlife. We have saved the best for last. Prosper has the most wonderful selection of custom homes in several different subdivisions. Many have 1-acre lots that are hard to find in the Metroplex. Some of the finest places to live are Gentle Creek, Whitley Place, Whispering Farms, Saddle Creek, and Whispering Meadows. Some of the best custom home builders are Dave R. Williams, Alford Homes, Darling Homes, and Highland Homes. For more articles on Homes of Prosper, visit Bill Remington’s Real Estate Articles.
