Planning trips to Kenya and Tanzania

A trip to Africa is considered incomplete without visiting Kenya and Tanzania. These two countries are undoubtedly considered one of the best destinations in Africa to go on safari. Touring these East African countries will give you a golden opportunity to visit all the major tourist attractions. These two countries boast a variety of wildlife sanctuaries, beautiful natural settings in a vast and untouched land, attractive beaches, ideal year-round weather, excellent accommodations, and hospitable people. In fact, a visit to these two places will leave you with fond memories.

In Kenya, you will depart from Nairobi in special SUVs and Land Cruiser vans, all with pop-up roofs. You will be accompanied by professional driver guides who have recognized skill throughout East Africa. It will be a pleasure to go through the Great Rift Valley where you will see amazing beautiful features like Mount Longonot and Lake Naivasha. Your highlight will begin with Lake Nakuru, which is a paradise for bird watchers. This alkaline water lake is home to hundreds of pink flamingos among other types of birds. Many travelers go around this lake to witness the large number of birds while taking pictures.

The Masai Mara National Reserve will be the highlight of your Kenya safari. In this reserve you will witness the largest wildebeest migration. You are guaranteed to see the big five (elephant, lion, leopard, rhino, buffalo), zebra, antelope, gazelle, hyena, cheetah and the different types of birds. To make your tour more interesting, be sure to fly the hot air balloon for great game viewing and photography. Watching the wild animals cross the Mara River where large crocodiles and hippos await them will be a great experience. The great Masai Mara migration takes place in August and September but is also dependent on rainfall. A visit to Amboseli National Park is also ideal for wildlife viewing.

In Tanzania, the Serengeti National Park is a must-see. A large herd of wildebeest migrate on the Serengeti plains during the month of December to June. Between the months of February to Partido is the calving season, but this depends on the rains. May and June are the mating season. This is a good time to watch predators hunt for their food. You will also see large mammals in the Ngorongoro crater like; elephant, rhino, buffalo, lion, leopard and cheetah. Lake Manyara is ideal for game viewing, fishing, canoeing and bird watching.

The climax of your trip to these two places is a visit to the sandy beaches along the coast of Mombasa in Kenya and Zanzibar in Tanzania. Here you can relax in the sun, swim or participate in other water and beach sports.
