Leaf Blowers for Home Landscaping

Many homes across the country have many garden maintenance tools. One of the pieces of equipment that can be included is a leaf blower. Depending on where you live, the number of leaves that fall each year can vary greatly. However, a leaf blower works well no matter the area and is certainly better than using a rake.

Leaf blowers can be purchased at any local home improvement store and are sold in electric, cordless battery and gas models. Gasoline-powered ones are usually found with landscaping equipment and for commercial use or large estates. Electric and battery powered units are commonly used by homeowners every day for basic cleaning. All models will significantly help and get the job done; you just need to know what will work best for you.

Battery-powered cordless leaf blowers are great for the average home and moderate cleanup. Some people just don’t like battery-powered gadgets of any kind for the simple fact that the batteries die and need to be recharged. However, backup batteries can be purchased and with new technology they last longer these days. Even the electric drives are great, except for the fact that the cords can get tangled up. Both weigh much less than gasoline models and are more ozone friendly.

On the other hand, gas-powered leaf blowers are commonly used for commercial use and by landscaping companies. These models require gasoline and will also need oil mixing. They are definitely heavier due to the liquid and they give off exhaust fumes which can be harmful to your health. You also need to buy gasoline and oil to have on hand.

Leaf blowers don’t have to be anything spectacular. In general, they all do the exact same thing and will do any job. You just have to make sure that what you buy suits your needs and makes it easy to collect the leaves. The best way to decide on a model is to find out how often you would need to use a leaf blower and which power method you prefer.
