Background checks

The nature of the industry involves huge monetary transactions and in such a field, you might find people of a dishonest nature. To protect people and their assets from things like fraud, a background check is performed on each applicant for approval of a license, one of these checks is a police report.

The interview with the board

After gathering all the documents from your background check, you must submit these documents and attend an interview with a real estate board officer who puts the final seal of approval on your application to become a sales agent in Jamaica.

Start selling

Once you have passed the exams and controls to legally practice in Jamaica, in most cases you must work for an authorized dealer in Jamaica. There are some exceptions where people can sell property without having a license, but you should refer to the Jamaica Real Estate Law for conditions.
