How colors can affect you and your mood

Everyone loves color. But what most people don’t think about is how it affects our mood and how we feel. Many companies are taking this into consideration these days and planning very carefully what colors and combinations to use to achieve certain sensations. This is very important to remember when choosing paint for your walls or even small things like the color scheme of your computer or phone. Keep in mind that everything you are constantly looking at in your daily life influences how you feel and how you perceive situations. Everyone reacts differently to color. There is no definitive science about colors and how they will affect you, so you should experiment with colors and see how they affect you.

A good example is the color red. For some, this provokes anger or frustration, while for others it provokes passion. The shades of colors also play an important role in how you react to them. I had a personal experience with this and the color red. From time to time I would go to this little diner around the corner from my house. Every time, after a few minutes, maybe 15 or 20, I would start to feel nervous and agitated…for no reason. Then I realized, I was reacting to colors. The entire restaurant was completely covered in bright fire engine red; I mean everything from the tables to the booths. Everyone may react differently, but this was a good lesson for me, never paint anything in my house red. Here is a simple list of basic colors and how they will affect you in general and what they will bring you.

Black – Black is the color of authority, but it can also be a submissive color if worn as clothing. All black outfits can also be overwhelming or seem standoffish.

White: White is the color of purity and innocence. White is a reflective color and reflects a lot of light.

Red: Red has the strongest emotional response of any color. Red stimulates and can actually increase your heart rate. It is also the color of love and passion.

Pink- Pink is the most romantic color. This color triggers a calm and easy state.

Blue: Blue is one of the most relaxing colors. This color actually causes the brain to release calming chemicals. Be careful because it can also be a cold and depressing color.

Green: Green is the easiest color for the human eye and can even improve vision. Green symbolizes nature and fertility.

Yellow: This color is considered an optimistic color. It is also the most difficult color for the human eye to see. This can make people lose their temper more in a yellow room. But it can also improve concentration.

Purple: This color screams royalty. Purple also brings about luxury and wealth. However, it is rarely found in nature, so it can also trigger artificial or false feelings.
