Exercises to tone your lower abs and get that sexy belly

There is no doubt that if they could, everyone would like a six pack. To achieve this you need to focus on exercises to tone your lower abs as well as exercises to tone your upper abs.

Ask anyone the question “how to get a six pack and flatten your stomach?” and the answer you will usually get will be that you should do sit-ups and sit-ups. While these exercises are great for toning and strengthening your upper abs, they do little to tone your lower abs.

There is no point in having crunches on your upper stomach while your lower stomach is flabby. So if you want great overall stomach development, it’s important that you start using exercises to tone your lower abs. Below are some lower abs exercises that you can start using.

leg raises

Leg lifts are a great exercise that target your lower abdominal muscles. The way to perform them is to lie on your back on the floor. Place your palms just below your hips or below your upper buttocks. Then lift your feet about 8 inches off the ground. Widen your feet about 24 inches, keep your legs straight, and hold for 10 to 20 seconds. Then you bring your feet back together but keep them elevated. Then you repeat the process, over and over again.

the plank

The plank doesn’t just target your lower abs, it targets your entire core area and is a great but rarely used exercise. Probably because a lot of people don’t know about it.

You get into a position as if you were going to do a push-up. Then you lower yourself onto your forearms. So now your body is straight and your forearms and toes are the only parts of your body that have contact with the ground. Then just hold that position for as long as you can. It sounds easy, but believe me when I tell you that in a few minutes you will be shaking like a leaf.

legs raised

This is one of the best exercises to tone the lower abs. You lie on your back on the floor. You raise your shoulders a couple of inches. Then you raise your legs in the air, bending at the hips. Ten brings them back down, but keep them an inch or two off the floor, and then continue doing this for as many reps as you can.

The one thing I want to make clear is that while all of the above exercises will help strengthen and tone your lower abdominal muscles, they won’t do much for fat burning. The fact is that practically all exercises for the stomach burn very few calories, and it is the calories that are responsible for the layer of fat around the waist.

The best way to burn calories is to do cardio along with exercises to tone your lower abs.
