Armor of God Cube Game – A Super Fun Bible Review Activity

Children love to play dress up. I know it was my favorite pastime when I was a kid. Teaching your children about the armor of God can present a great opportunity to learn more of God’s great Word AND offer the opportunity to dress up as a soldier of the Lord.

If you don’t already know, there is a ton of fun information on the subject of the armor of God in books and on the internet. So I don’t want to reinvent the wheel, but I wanted to inspire you in two directions. One – I’ll tell you how to create and play the “Armor of God Cube Game” and two – I’ll direct you to some great websites to help you find a great lesson on this amazing subject.

The Armor of God Cube Game simply uses a 6-sided cube or box of some kind that represents each of the 6 pieces of armor: the helmet of salvation, the breastplate of justice, the shield of faith, the sword of the Spirit, the belt of truth and the feet prepared for the Gospel. The game will also require you to have 2 sets of armor that you can “dress” a child with. You can make your own pieces from cardstock, or you can buy them separately or online. (Just Google: God Armor Suit).

To play, I suggest you divide your class into 2 teams, maybe boys vs. girls. Have one boy from each team be the soldier wearing the armor. Teams then take turns rolling the bucket and dressing their soldier in the armor piece shown on the bucket. The soldier who first fully “dresses” is the winner.

Now, here are some great sites to help you present a study on the Armor of God:

1. annieshomepage.com – Annie’s stuff is always good and age appropriate.

2. daniellesplace.com – Danielle’s is also always good. This site shows you how to make your own armor pieces. So cute!

3. kidssundayschool.com – Activities, crafts and lessons.

4. mssscrafts.com – This offers some nice word puzzles and a nice coloring page on the Armor of God. Enjoy!
