2006 Audi A4 3.2 Avant Review

Usually you wouldn’t expect much from an update, but the 2006 Audi A4 3.2 Avant has enough updates to be called new. Available as a sedan or Avant, it is built on the same platform and uses all of Audi’s traditional strengths while adding some flair to the exterior and interior design. The intention was to focus the brand image on the North American market. And the result, the 2006 Audi A4 3.2 Avant, definitely offers some attitude.

The first impression of the car is its appearance and the 2006 Audi A4 3.2 Avant makes a good impression. While not the only new exterior feature, the most obvious one, of course, is the “single frame” grille, inspired by the Audi Nuvolari quattro concept car. The front of the car is now unmistakable. The A4 has grown a bit too, 41mm for the sedan, and with that came a bit more space for the rear-seat passengers.

Speaking of the interior. As unlikely as it may sound, Audi has made some improvements to the cabin. Being a benchmark for car interiors for some time, they have managed to find even richer textures, more pleasing materials, and more exquisite workmanship to keep up with the reputation for supreme comfort and style. There is also a full range of safety technologies on board, including side curtain airbags, an intelligent electronic stability control system and stronger side impact beams.

On the road, the 2006 Audi A4 3.2 Avant stays sharp and confident. The revised suspension provides a firm but not choppy ride. Steering is fast and precise with very little body roll when cornering sharply. The new large brakes deserve special attention, as they reduce the speed of the A4 in a very short time. The engine feels and sounds smooth, powerful and gives the driver a boost of confidence.
