This article is about a book called “THE SCIENCE OF GETTING RICH” written way back in 1910 by a man named Wallace D. Wattle. The principles promulgated by this man, if followed, will enrich you with mathematical certainty. For the principles are not philosophical but pragmatic.

He stated that “There is a thinking matter (God or Supreme Being) of which all things are made and that, in its original state, permeates, penetrates and fills the intermediate spaces of the universe.

A thought in this substance produces the thing that is represented by the thought.

Man can form things in his thought, and by impressing his thought on a formless substance he can cause the thing he thinks of to be created.

For example, assuming you want to build a house, all you need to do is have a mental image of the type of house you want to build, the number of rooms, bathroom, kitchen, location of the house, type of flooring, tile, marble, etc. roof, ceiling, windows, doors, all the detailed information of the house. And by imprinting the thought of this house on the formless substance, it will be created with the definition of the image you have, the fixity of your purpose, the firmness of your faith, and the depth of your gratitude that you already have the house.

To do this, man must pass from the competitive to the creative mind; otherwise he cannot be in harmony with the formless Intelligence, which is always creative and never competitive in spirit.

Man can come into full harmony with formless Substance by cherishing a heartfelt gratitude for the blessings it bestows upon him. Gratitude unifies the mind of man with the intelligence of Substance (God), so that the thoughts of man are received by the Formless. Man can remain on the creative plane only by uniting with the Formless Intelligence through a deep and continuous feeling of gratitude.

Man must form a clear and definite mental picture of the things he wants to have, do, or become; and he must keep this mental image in his thoughts, while he is deeply grateful to the Supreme for granting all his wishes. The man who wants to get rich must spend his free hours contemplating the Vision of him and in fervent thanksgiving that the reality is being given to him. He can never overemphasize the importance of frequent contemplation of the mental image, coupled with unwavering faith and devoted gratitude. This is the process by which impression is given to the Formless, and the creative forces are set in motion.

Creative energy works through the established channels of natural growth and the industrial and social order. All that is included in his mental image will surely be brought to the man who follows the instructions given above, and whose faith does not waver. What he wants will come to him through the established ways of trade and commerce.

To receive what is his when it comes, man must be active; and this activity can only consist of something more than occupying his present place. He must keep in mind the Purpose of enriching himself by carrying out the mental image of him. And he must do, every day, all that can be done that day, taking care to do each act successfully. He must give each man a use value greater than the cash value he receives, so that each transaction produces more life; and he must hold Forward Thought in such a way that the impression of increase is communicated to all with whom he comes into contact.

Men and women who practice the above instructions will certainly get rich; and the riches you receive will be in exact proportion to the definition of your vision, the fixity of your purpose, the firmness of your faith, and the depth of your gratitude.
