Making the decision to buy furniture or rent furniture for your staging work is really a challenge for staging enthusiasts. But for many, they buy new furniture when they prepare empty houses and simply rent furniture for already furnished houses. In one of my previous articles I talked about the advantages and disadvantages of buying furniture for home staging, so this will talk about the advantages and disadvantages of renting furniture based on what I have observed in my long career in the real estate business.

There are clear advantages to renting furniture. One is that you don’t need a large upfront investment to be able to rent furniture. Also, you don’t have to transport it home yourself and this is an advantage for you because it gives you more time to do the actual work – the assembly work at home. However, even these clear advantages exist, many home decorating experts do not prefer to rent furniture. They often said that it is not “attractive”.

Disadvantages of furniture rental according to a large number of professionals and experts at Home Stager:

1. Furniture rental tends to be neutral, often blandly contemporary, and it’s not a good way to find cool furniture that you’ve come up with to give your home an amazing look, because most of the time, the ones you’re looking for aren’t they are. available at rental companies.

2. Regarding the cost, it is expensive because most of the companies that offer furniture rental require a minimum period of 3 months. This means that once you have reached the 3 month period, you will have to pay again for each piece of furniture that you have rented.

If we are to compare furniture buying and furniture rental, the purchase somehow stands out for the time it can give the owners (their clients) and saves them money by not restricting them to the minimum three-month contract. Buying is expensive though, but you can at least keep the parts that you will buy for your home assembly work. It is a one-time payment, so it will save you money.

Also, when buying furniture, you can choose each piece. You can choose the designs and styles that you like the most and keep them. No more paying rent!

3. Limited options. Like I said before, you can’t find everything you like in furniture rental. This is because your options are limited. Just one example, you have a home assembly job in a modern, empty house and you decided to simply rent furniture from a rental company. Unfortunately, when it comes down to the rental company, there is no more modern furniture that matches the modern home.
