How to use your Facebook
Do you know that social media is a great resource for networking? Social sites not only allow you to connect with people all over the world, but they also strengthen your business. How? Let’s check out Facebook, one of the most popular social sites,
Facebook is a wonderful place for people who want to build a fan base. To do this, register (it’s free) and create a business page. To do this, first go to Facebook.com/pages and click on “Create Page” in the upper right corner. In the drop-down menu, you must choose a category. I would choose Brand or Product. Click on the Facebook terms and conditions. Facebook will guide you through the setup process. It is my suggestion that you link to Twitter from your Facebook by going into your settings and link your Facebook page to your Twitter account to save time and allow you to be in more places at the same time. Once your Facebook page is set up, it is very important that you post.
You will see a screen appear asking you to select a category from the following list:
- Local Business or Place
- company, organization or institution
- Brand or Product
- artist, band or public figure
- Cause or Community
Fill in your information.
Once you select the category for your business, you can fill in the name, address, and phone number. Check the box next to “I agree to the Facebook pages Conditions“and click”Start. “You will see a page asking you to confirm your Category page and be able to update the category you chose.
You will need to add a jPeg image. Make sure it is a good photo taken by a professional. Not having a photo is unacceptable, it seems that you are a bot. Please note that FB will only allow (correctly apply) profile photos that are 180 pixels wide.
Invite your friends, tell your fans, post frequent status updates, and suggest your page to your friends. You can do this in “Find friends. “
Upload an image for the cover of your page. It can be a logo, a photo of a store, or a photo of a person, whatever makes the most sense to build your brand. The file must be less than 4MB in size and can be square or a vertical rectangle. Choose an image that is not square. The maximum size can be 180 x 540 pixels and try to use all the available space to include a logo, a photo and perhaps a slogan or some descriptive text. There is no reason to limit yourself to using a square image just because you are concerned about how the thumbnail will look. Once you upload a photo, simply use the “Edit Thumbnail” option to select a square part of the vertical banner that works best for the thumbnail. Your banner may need to be cropped to select the top with the text logo.
Start your page by starting with a few “likes” by recruiting your own friends. Start typing names and when you drag your cursor over someone’s name, it will be highlighted in blue. Click once to verify the person and add them to your guest list. Click on “Selected“to see who’s on your invite list. When you’re ready to invite, click”Send recommendations. “
You also can “Import contacts“from your mailing list to multiple email accounts. To do this, upload a contact file from one email account. Click”Import contacts“to communicate with your email contacts about your new page. You can upload a file (Outlook, Constant Contact are examples) or you can enter your email login information so Facebook can access the people on your list email contacts Check the box next to the names you would like to invite and you can preview the invitation to see what it will look like.recommended pages“widget on your Facebook, while everyone else will receive an email. Here’s a sample email your prospects will receive:
Your company name invites you to join Facebook. Once you sign up, you will be able to connect with YOUR PAGE, along with other people who interest you and know.
Then start writing once you have some fans.
To get status updates, you can share with everyone, or you can target ads by location or language. Targeting is useful if the page is for a business with multiple locations in multiple states, especially if there is a contest, event, or update that is only for a particular city.
To post a link in the correct way, click on “Link“and paste the URL. Click”To attach. “Once you” attach “the URL, you will see that the text and photo of the page you are linking to will be filled in automatically. You can change the title, paste different text into the snippet, and change the images (if there are multiple options, indicated by the “Choose a thumbnail“righ now):
This is the best and cleanest way to link to another page. Post looks better Y it will work better if the link is attached instead of writing it in the state.
Once you have 25 fans on your Facebook page, any of the admins of a page can reserve a custom URL. Go to the Username page, select the page name from the drop-down menu, and then type the name you would like to use. Click on “Check Availability”. If available, you will be asked “Are you sure you want to configure [URL] ace [Facebook Page]Username? “If so, please confirm to block that URL, and note that you cannot change the URL of a page once you confirm.
Facebook Insights is a great tool that can help you determine when to post and what type of content works well. You can continue to see your activity by clicking on “Facebook statistics“in the right sidebar, just below the administrators tab.
In the “Administrators” section of the right sidebar, click “See everything. “A new page will appear with the names of the administrators. To make someone else an administrator, simply type their name (it will appear in real time). There is no limit to the number of administrators a page can have Administrators stay in touch about what you do on the page, including comments and posts so your business can engage with your fans, via email.
A full 180 x 540 pixel sidebar is impressive and provides a larger “canvas” with which to convey our message. There is more room for creativity. Cut off logos can be avoided with minor adjustments to the position of the logo within the sidebar.
Once you have configured the page, the interface changes if you are looking to import / suggest. On your Facebook page, click “edit page“(top right) then”marketing“Then tell your fans.
Facebook is definitely going to play an increasingly important role in the future for businesses, especially small ones.
