Acne: Make War Against Buttons!

Acne in adolescence is known to 80% of young people between the ages of 11 and 20. However, why do they suffer without action even though there are some solutions?

What could be more common than teenage pimples? In point: the hormonal changes of puberty strongly stimulate the secretion of sebum. This overproduction of clogged pores (or hair follicles) causes the growth of bacteria and inflammation of the skin.

Don’t touch your buttons

Result: An explosive cocktail can cause blackheads, white-tipped red buttons, sometimes cysts under the skin on the forehead, nose, chin, neck, and back. This is a hormonal phenomenon that causes acne. It is vitally important not to eat certain foods as claimed.

The first reflex to adopt: don’t touch your pimples. If you try to break them, it can spread inflammation and infection. Don’t touch your blackheads (comedones) either.

Cleanse your skin daily

The adolescent with acne must take special care of her skin. You should also use specific non-aggressive dermo-cosmetic products.

The right moves

Clean your skin with a surgras dermatological bread without soap or gel.

· Dry your skin with a towel.

Apply with a gentle soothing cotton lotion.

· Lastly, apply a non-greasy moisturizer to prevent the formation of blackheads. Complete in some areas (chin, nostrils, forehead) with a regulating cream for sebum secretion.

Once a week, make a mask or a gentle scrub to thoroughly cleanse your skin and release any impurities.

What you must not do

Do not dry and do not attack the skin with alcohol or sulfur solutions.

Don’t use greasy cream to hydrate your skin.

Do not clean your skin with ordinary soap. This transition drying will further enhance sebum secretion.

Do not expose your face to the sun

The sun has an anti-inflammatory ability, so pimples seem to disappear in the sun. But the sun is also a false friend: the rebound effect a month later is usually catastrophic.

In fact, initially, the sun dries out the grains which become less visible. But in parallel, it thickens the skin. The buttons are deeply ingrained and resurface a month later, even longer, in response to hormonal stimulation.

Therefore, in the presence of acne, it is better to use a non-greasy sunscreen. Beware; some acne treatments are incompatible with sunbathing. Consult your pharmacist.

See a dermatologist if acne is severe.

If acne is severe and aesthetically uncomfortable, it may be wise to consult a dermatologist.

If the blackheads are very numerous, the doctor may prescribe retinoids derived from vitamin A. If the skin looks inflamed and infected, he will prefer to prescribe antibiotics or creams containing benzoyl peroxide.

Finally, in the case of highly resistant acne, you can resort to isotretinoin, but be careful with its use requiring the prescription of contraceptive pills to avoid pregnancy and malformations in the fetus.
